Gloves are especially prevalent with the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak, and people are wearing gloves in everyday life more than ever, and not just for first aid.
There are many different types of gloves, available in different colours. Most are nitrile or vinyl gloves. When putting gloves on, you should ensure you have nothing sharp on your hands, as these can break the glove material. Should you find a hole, you should put on a new pair. You must also ensure you are changing gloves between patients, as the gloves will harbour any infection.
Proper removal of your gloves is one of the most important steps in containing the spread of infection, so that nothing splatters where it shouldn't. The gloves should then be disposed of correctly, so that contaminants remain safely out of reach.
