There are generic steps for removing a FFP3 respirator, however specific manufacturer instructions should always be followed.
FFP3 respirators should be changed: after each use, if breathing becomes difficult, if the respirator becomes damaged or if it becomes obviously contaminated with body fluids such as respiratory secretions. You'll need to pay attention to your mask as you are using it, and have multiple masks available. Only use a mask one time, and only for one patient.
After removing your personal protective equipment (PPE), hand hygiene must be performed after removal and disposal. Keep your respirator mask on at this time. The only PPE you should remove within a contaminated area are gloves, gowns or aprons, and eye protection.
After leaving the area, remove and dispose of your respirator mask, and then wash your hands again.
